June – October 2010
I have long been searching for a really fluffy green yarn to make a Christmas tree, and found the perfect type of yarn while on holiday early this year, but it doesn’t come in green!
Sullivan’s Scruffy Fashion Knitting Yarn, 100gm, 93% Viscose Rayon 7% Polyester, length not stated on label ….. and I didn’t measure it before starting. (That would have created a pretty big tangle!)
I bought some gold to play with anyway, and couldn’t decide between making alternative tinsel with a single chain or loopy chain … so combined the two. The yarn could also be used as an alternative to tinsel without any changes at all.
I crocheted 6 to 12 inches of single chain, followed by 6 to 12 inches of loopy chain.
Final length 15 metres, 16 yards
Enough for several trees, or to drape around a large room!
